Brian’s picks – March 29

1) You can call it the greatest two minutes in spurts. Because the free 59th Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday happens almost quicker than a Peter Cottontail hop for youngsters through age 8 (in various age-related categories). The event, co-sponsored by Columbus Parks and Recreation Department, Columbus Meridian Kiwanis Club, and WCSI Radio, unfolds at Donner Park near Lafayette and 19th streets in Columbus. Organizers always suggest to parents and others to arrive early enough to find parking and to bring a basket for each child.

2) The final Columbus Area Arts Council presentation of the season of Old National Bank’s First Fridays For Families will be at 6 p.m. April 6 at The Commons when the local Dancers Studio Inc. performs “Peter and The Wolf,” a short ballet based on a Russian folktale, with music composed by Sergei Prokofiev. The free ballet is tailor-made for children as it introduces a musical instrument for each character in the ballet. Information: 812-376-2539 or artsincolumbus.org.
