Services and studies

First Baptist — The Rev. Dan Cash will deliver the message, “Holding One’s Tongue,” with Scripture from James 3:1-12, at the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 3300 Fairlawn Drive. The Men of Faith meets at 6:15 a.m. each Friday at Four Seasons Retirement Center, 1901 Taylor Road, for breakfast and Bible study.

Lowell General Baptist — A Revival will start at 6 p.m. April 15 and continue at 7 p.m. throughout the rest of the week at the church, 2102 Southline Drive. Pastor Jonah Shoop will preach.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus — The Rev. Nic Cable and The Rev. Tonja Gerardy will deliver the message, “Sharing Scared Space,” during the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 7850 W. Goeller Blvd. The church’s congregation will gather as one community with the congregation of North Christian Church.

Westside Community — Pastor Robert Vester will lead the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 124 Tipton Lakes Blvd. The children’s program up through grade 6 will meet the same time as the worship service.

Petersville United Methodist — The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will be using the theme “Dare to Dance Again” when she delivers the message during the 9 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, Petersville. Scripture from 2 Samuel 6 will be shared by liturgist Joe Bush. Teresa Covert will give the children’s message and the adult choir will provide special music. A time of fellowship will follow the service and the pastor will continue with the Lenten study beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Monday night Bible studies will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the homes of Larry and Connie Nolting and Chris Kimerling. The Sit ‘N’ Stitch group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Nolting home. Choir practice will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night, directed by Kathy Bush. Prayer Time led by Barb Hedrick will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday.

First Presbyterian — The Rev. Sarah Dingman, synod executive of Synod Of Lincoln Trails, will preach about letting go of fear during the 9:30 a.m. worship service at the church, 512 Seventh St. Scripture will include John 20:19-31. Infant and toddler care will be available from 9:15 to 11 a.m.

The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. every Friday. The second men’s support group meets at 6:15 a.m. Mondays.

People in need of a meal are invited to the Hot Meals program offered at 5 p.m. Friday, with entrance through the glass doors on Franklin Street.

Old Union United Church of Christ — The message, “A Time to Laugh!,” will be delivered by Pastor Kirby Rupp at the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 12703 N. County Road 50W, Edinburgh. Scripture will include Acts 4:32-35; 1 John 1:1-2:2; John 20:19-31. Sunday school will convene at 9 a.m., with fellowship to begin at 9:40 a.m.

Bible study will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Lowell General Baptist — A hymn sing will take place at 7 p.m. today at the church, 2102 Southline Drive. The Richard Harper family from Columbus will be singing.

Events

First Baptist — A rummage sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21 at the church, 3300 Fairlawn Drive. Proceeds will help fund a mission trip to Murrow Indian Children’s Home in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Westside Community — The next Westside Women at the Table will be from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 124 Tipton Lakes Blvd. The featured speaker will be Nita Evans, who will share some of her life experiences. The cost of the meal is $10 at the door, but pre-registration is required.

Petersville United Methodist — The NOW committee is planning a Kite Day community event April 21 at the church, 2781N. County Road 500E, Petersville. A light lunch will be served. All ages are invited.
