Where they stand Q&A: Greg Pence

U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 6 REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE

Q: Partisan politics has been blamed for political gridlock at the federal level, ranging from approval of spending bills to Supreme Court nominations to filibusters on legislation. How is partisanship most problematic and how would you try to promote bipartisan efforts?

A: Most people in this area want the same things — a good job, a nice home to raise their family and to provide a solid future for their children. Congress needs more people who put their communities first and I will work with anyone who desires to do the same.

Q: Congress and the president so far have been unable to reach a compromise on a legislative solution for young immigrants who came into the U.S. illegally as children. Where do you stand on the “Dreamers” issue?

A: I stand with President Trump to find a just, compassionate and legal plan for immigration reform. Congress needs to work together to answer the president’s request to get this done.
