Services and studies

Westside Community — Pastor Dennis Aud will lead the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 124 Tipton Lakes Blvd. The children’s program up through Grade 6 will meet the same time as the worship service.

A new six-week women’s Bible study, “Anxious for Nothing” by Max Lucado, will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday and explore God’s treatment plan for anxiety, found in Philippians 4:4-8.

Lowell General Baptist A Revival will start at 6 p.m. Sunday and continue at 7 p.m. throughout the rest of the week at the church, 2102 Southline Drive. Pastor Jonah Shoop will preach.

Flintwood Wesleyan The Amplify service (nontraditional) at 9 a.m. and The Well service (traditional) at 11 a.m. will both be held Sunday in the main sanctuary of the church, 5300 E. 25th St. Sunday school classes for all ages will begin at 10 a.m. A pitch-in dinner will follow the 11 a.m. service in The Friendship Center. Meat will be provided. All evening activities will be dismissed.

The women’s study group, Connections, meets at 10 a.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month upstairs in Curry Hall.

A Christian Journey with Paul will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in The Friendship Center. New members are welcome. Prior classes are not necessary.

The Prayer Team will meet at 6:15 p.m. and the adult Bible study group will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary.

First Presbyterian The youth of the church will lead the congregation in liturgy and music worship starting at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. They will also preach the sermon. Infant and toddler care will be available from 9:15 to 11 a.m. The church is located at 512 Seventh St.

The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. every Friday. The second men’s support group meets at 6:15 a.m. Mondays.

People in need of a meal are invited to the Hot Meals program offered at 5 p.m. Friday, with entrance through the glass doors on Franklin Street.

Old Union United Church of Christ The message, “Are We Brave Enough,” will be delivered by Pastor Kirby Rupp at the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 12703 N. County Road 50W, Edinburgh. Scripture will include Acts 3:12-19; 1 John 3:1-7; and Luke 24:36b-48. Sunday school will convene at 9 a.m., with fellowship to begin at 9:40 a.m.

Bible study will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus The Rev. Nic Cable will deliver the message, “Discovering Our Pluralism,” during the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 7850 W. Goeller Blvd. The congregation will explore and celebrate its religious diversity.

Grace Lutheran The sermon, “Reading Scripture in Light of the Resurrection,” based on Luke 24:36-49, will be delivered during the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday at the church, 3201 Central Ave. The message will discuss how all Scripture reveals the life-giving power of God through Jesus Christ. Sunday school for all ages will begin at 9:25 a.m.

The Searching Scripture class, an introduction to the Lutheran faith, will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Attendees will examine what the Scripture says about Holy Baptism. Light refreshments will be available.

Petersville United Methodist The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will bring the message, “While in Their Joy: Dancing Sure,” at the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday at the church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, Petersville. Joe Bush will serve as liturgist and Teresa Covert will give the children’s message. The adult choir, directed by Kathy Bush, will provide special music. A time of fellowship will follow the service. Scherer-Berry will continue the study, “Shaped by God’s Heart,” at 10:30 a.m.

The Monday night Bible study groups will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the homes of Larry and Connie Nolting and Chris Kimerling. Sit ‘N’ Stitch will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night, also at the Nolting home.

Barb Hedrick will lead the Prayer group at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. The United Methodist Women will meet at 6 p.m. later that evening.

Music

Praise Concert The Living Witness Choir of the Westport Baptist Church and the Vernon Baptist Church choir will be joining for their annual concert beginning at 7 p.m. April 29 at Vernon Baptist Church, 155 E. Washington St., Vernon. Each choir will be featured individually before combining to perform several selections together. Karen Meeker will direct the Vernon Baptist choir while The Living Witness Choir will be directed by Deanna McCullough and accompanied by Jennifer Chastain. The concert will be followed by a time of food and fellowship in the church’s Family Life Center. All are invited.

St. Paul Lutheran — Dr. Craig Cramer, professor of organ and university organist at Notre Dame University, will present a concert on the 1991 Dobson pipe organ at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church, 6045 E. State St. All are cordially invited. Admission is free.

Hands of Hope — The Women’s Conference Spring Fling will take place at 4 p.m. April 29 at Scipio United Methodist Church, 6050 N. State Road 7. Flintwood Wesleyan Kolby Mitchell, a senior youth of the church, will be raising money with a car show from 1 to 3 p.m. today in the parking lot of the church, 5300 E. 25th St. Proceeds will fund a makeover of the church’s handicap ramp. Entry fee: $10 per car. Donations will also be accepted. The public is invited.

GLOW, God Lights Our World, will begin at 6:15 p.m. with supper at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
