Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus has sent out a warning that a hospice support fund in Merrifield, Virginia, is soliciting for donations locally.
Our Hospice does not receive any funds from The Hospice Support Fund in Virginia, local hospice officials said. The mailings, which have gone out to Columbus, Hope and Edinburgh addresses, are not a fundraiser for Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Solicitations sent by Our Hospice of South Central Indiana contain the organization’s logo and local contact information, including the local telephone number. As a not-for-profit hospice, the organization relies on donors within a 16-county service area to support the organization.
“We want to avoid confusion with our community members as we are grateful for all the gifts we receive,” said Laura Leonard, Our Hospice president.
