Duncan scores first hole-in-one as a pro

Staff Reports

Tyler Duncan recorded his first hole-in-one as a professional golfer Saturday when he aced the 140-yard No. 8 at TPC Four Seasons Resort, Irving, Texas, with a pitching wedge.

The shot helped Duncan, a 2008 Columbus North graduate, fire a 3-under-par 68 and move up from a tie for 55th into a tie for 29th going into today’s final round of the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship. Among those he is tied with is three-time major winner Jordan Spieth, the former No. 1-ranked and current No. 3-ranked player in the world.

Duncan shot rounds of 65 and 73 on Thursday and Friday and sits at 7-under 206. Australian Mark Leishman and 21-year-old rookie Aaron Wise are tied for the lead at 17-under 196.
