Old Union United Church of Christ — The 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 12703 N. County Road 50W, Edinburgh, will be led by Pastor Kirby Rupp and feature the message, “Dancing in the Streets!” Scripture will include 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19; Ephesians 1:3-14; and Mark 6:14-29. Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m., followed by fellowship at 9:40 a.m.

Wednesday Bible study is on hiatus for the summer.

Westside Community —Pastor Dennis Aud will lead the 10 a.m. service Sunday at the church, 124 Tipton Lakes Blvd. The children’s program through grade 6 will meet at the same time as the service.

The women’s seven-week Bible study, “My Heart, Christ’s Home” by Robert Boyd Munger, will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday and be led by Nita Evans.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus — In her message, “Up,” Sharon Mangas will be sharing a revision of the spiritual journey she shared with the congregation in 2010. In eight years since, many changes in her life that have impacted her spiritual walk.

Flintwood Wesleyan — Amplify (nontraditional) at 9 a.m. and The Well (traditional) at 11 a.m. will both be led on Sunday by Pastor Wes Jones in the main sanctuary of the church, 5300 E. 25th St. The Prayer Team will meet at 8 a.m. and Sunday school classes will meet at 10 a.m. in their regular rooms.

Because of Family Camp, all evening activities are dismissed for the next two Sundays. Regular services will resume July 29.

A Christian Journey with Paul will not be meeting during the summer months.

On Wednesday evening, The Prayer Team will meet at 6 p.m. in The Prayer Room and adult Bible study will meet at 6:30 p.m. in The Friendship Center.

First Baptist — Worship will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 3300 Fairlawn Drive. Also taking place Sunday is a panel discussion on “Framing a New Picture of Ministry.” Child care will be available on the lower level for infants. Petersville United Methodist — The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will use the theme “We Were Formed by God” when she brings the message at the 9 a.m. service Sunday. Scripture from Isaiah 64:8-9 will be read by the liturgist Deb Loper. Teresa Covert will give the children’s message and the choir will provide special music. There will be a loose-coins offering for Operation Classroom from July through September. A time of fellowship will follow the service. The church is located at 2781 N. County Road 800E in Petersville.

The Prayer Group, led by Barb Hedrick, will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

First Presbyterian — The sermon, “To What Tune Are We Dancing?,” will delivered at the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at the church, 512 Seventh St. Scripture will include 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19; and Mark 6:14-29. Infant and toddler care will be available from 9:15 to 11 a.m.

The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. every Friday. Another support group for working-age men meets at 6:15 a.m. Mondays.

People in need of a meal are invited to the Hot Meals program offered at 5 p.m. Friday, with entrance through the glass doors on Franklin Street.

First United Methodist — At the 9 a.m. Traditional and 11 a.m. Celebration services Sunday at the church, 618 Eighth St., the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “A View from the Church Playground.” Scripture will include Romans 15:7-13.

Music

First United Methodist — “Songs for a Summer Evening,” a free Saturday Night Showcase open to the public and featuring local musicians and personalities, will take place at 7 p.m. July 28 at the church, 618 Eighth St. Doors will open a half hour prior to the start of the event. Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going to Love Chapel.

Westside Community — A Family Fun Day, featuring outdoor games and grilled burgers and hotdogs, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 124 Tipton Lakes Blvd. All ages are invited.

Flintwood Wesleyan — Family Camp will take place Sunday through July 22 at the Orleans District Campground, 1637 S. Maple St., Orleans. Camp evangelists will include the Revs. George Holley and Tony Bye. Worship leaders will be Chuck and Debbie Brown. The Rev. Amber Livermore will be the youth speaker. A closing night concert at 4:30 p.m. July 22 will feature Judith Montgomery and family, along with The Woodsman Quartet. A free-will offering will be taken. Chicago Pizza Take-Over Night event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. July 31 at 3780 W. Jonathan Moore Pike. Diners who mention the church will see a portion of their purchase go to the Building Hope fund.

The next Flintwood Outdoor Market will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 4.

GLOW, God Lights Our World, will resume Aug. 15.

The church’s annual Building Hope 5K Walk/Run Event will take place Aug. 25. More details will be shared closer to the event date.

First United Methodist — Families of all ages are invited to join the Family Ministry Team for a bring-your-own picnic lunch and playground fun at noon each Wednesday in July at the church playground, 618 Eighth St. In the event of bad weather, trikes and toys will be available for children to play with in the Fellowship Hall.

The next Mission Monday, featuring family friendly mission projects for all ages and abilities, will take place at noon July 23 in the Fellowship Hall.
