Donner swimmers shine in invitational

Donner Swim Club hosted its annual Donner 12-and-under invitational last weekend at Columbus North High School.

In the 11-12-year-old girls age group, Kara Buntin won all of her events — the 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Ava Andrews placed second in the 100 freestyle, fifth in the 50 breaststroke and 100 backstroke, sixth in the 50 backstroke and 10th in the 50 freestyle.

Nicole Brault took second in the 200 IM, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke; fourth in the 50 butterfly and fifth in the 50 freestyle. Hannah Dean placed won the 100 freestyle and was third in the 50 backstroke, fourth in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke and seventh in the 50 freestyle.

Eleanor Russell placed seventh in the 50 backstroke and ninth in the 50 freestyle. Adu Nambissan took ninth in the 50 backstroke, Abigail Henderson was 12th in the 50 freestyle. Kaitlin Rodriguez placed 13th in the 50 freestyle.

In the 11-12 boys division, the 200 freestyle relay team of Isaac Poffitt, Brock Smith, Deaton Stephenson and Andrew Brown was victorious. Proffitt won all of his events — the 50 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

Conner Hoffman won the 50 breaststroke and finished second in the 50 freestyle. Smith won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke and finished second in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 100 breastroke. Stephenson won the 50 backstroke and took second in the 50 butterfly and 100 breastroke and third in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

Brown finished second in the 50 breaststroke, third in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 50 freestyle.  Markus Larsen placed second in the 50 backstroke, fourth in the 50 butterfly, sixth in the 100 freestyle and seventh in the 50 freestyle. Vardhan Yepuri took third in the 50 backstroke and ninth in the 50 freestyle. Eshan Thete was 10th in the 50 freestyle.

In the 9-10 girls division, the 200 freestyle relay team of Cassidy Furnish, Mridula Muthukumaran, Nitya Garg and Abby Proffitt was victorious; and the 200 medley relay relay team of Cora Tregoning, Jeanette Larsen, Kanav Mehta and Connelly Furnish placed second.

Cassidy Furnish won the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke, and finished second in the 50 butterfly and third in the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle. Connelly Furnish took second in the 50 freesytle, 100 freestyle, 50 breaststroke and 100 breastroke and fourth in the 100 backstroke.

Morgan Hollinger won the 25 backstroke and took seventh in the 50 freestyle. Saanvi Lella won the 25 breaststroke, and was fifth in the 25 backstroke and 25 freestyle and 13th in the 50 freestyle. Mehta won the 50 backstroke and finished second in the 25 freestyle and 11th in the 50 breastroke.

Muthukumaran won the 50 butterfly and tool second in the 100 backstroke, third in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 50 freestyle and 50 breaststroke. Abby Proffitt won the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke and was third in the 50 butterfly and 50 breastroke.

Garg placed second in the 50 backstroke, third in the 100 breaststroke, fourth in the 50 butterfly, fifth in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 50 breaststroke. Avika Veldandi took second in the 25 butterfly, seventh in the 50 backstroke, eighth in the 100 freestyle, 10th in the 50 breaststroke and 11th in the 50 freestyle.

Addy Keitel finished third in the 25 freestyle, sixth in the 25 backstroke and 12th in the 50 freestyle. Jeanette Larsen placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke, sixth in the 50 backstroke and 10th in the 100 freestyle. Tregoning was fifth in the 50 breaststroke, seventh in the 100 freestyle and eighth in the 50 freestyle.

For the 9-10 boys, the 200 freestyle relay team of  Hudson Eicher, Arya Dave, Michael Reed and Pranav Nalole finished second. Dave took second in the 25 backstroke and 100 freestyle and fifth in the 50 butterfly. Eicher won the 25 freestyle, and finished third in the 25 backstroke, fourth in the 25 breastroke and eighth in the 50 freestyle.

Joseph Day finished second in the 25 freestyle, sixth in the 100 freestyle, eighth in the 50 backstroke and 15th in the 50 freestyle. Saisri Harshith Devaguptapu took second in the 25 breaststroke, third in the 25 butterfly, fifth in the 25 backstroke and 13th in the 50 freestyle.

Reed placed second in the 25 butterfly, third in the 25 breastroke, sixth in the 50 backstroke and seventh in the 50 freestyle. James HE was third in the 25 freestyle and 14th in the 50 freestyle.

Nalole finished third in the 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke and 50 freestyle and fourth in the 50 breaststroke. Richard Sun took fourth in the 25 freestyle.

Pvitor Potenza placed fifth in the 25 breaststroke, sixth in the 25 backstroke and 16th in the 50 freestyle. Aarush Mahato was ninth in the 50 freestyle.

For the 7-8 girls division, Grier Lane won all of her events — the 50 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke. Rajvi Sapkal finished third in the 50 backstroke and 100 freestyle. Aashka Shah took third in the 25 freestyle.

Luiza Loureiro placed fourth in the 25 freestyle. Macy Rees took fourth in the 25 backstroke and fifth in the 25 freestyle, 50 freestyle and 50 backstroke. Grace Chen was sixth in the 25 freestyle

In the 7-8 boys division, Chandan Munnaluri won the 25 backstroke and finished second in the 25 freestyle. Shreyas Yepuri took third in the 25 freestyle. Krishna Seethanaboina was fourth in the 25 freestyle.

For the 5-6 girls, Ivanka Chandelkar placed third in the 25 freestyle. Helena Lourero took third in the 25 backstroke and sixth in the 25 freestyle. Vibha Nagiligari was seventh in the 25 freestyle.

In the 5-6 boys division, Xavier Zhang won all of his events — the 25 breaststroke, 25 freestyle, 50 freestyle and 25 backstroke.
