Salin Bank donates land parcel in downtown Edinburgh for Habitat home

EDINBURGH – Salin Bank has donated a parcel of land in downtown Edinburgh to Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County. The property at 108 N. Walnut St. will become home to a young Edinburgh couple and their son in the summer of 2019.

The donation, an 8,500-square-foot lot directly north of Salin Bank’s Edinburgh branch, was completed Oct. 25, and house construction will begin this spring.

During the build this spring, a number of community organizations will donate money and labor to help make home ownership a reality for the local family.

Habitat volunteers will also work side-by-side with the family itself.
