Nine new Court Appointed Special Advocates were sworn in Nov. 9 by Bartholomew County Juvenile Magistrate Heather Mollo, according to a news release.

Advocates for Children trains CASA volunteers, who work directly with children and families to ensure the children’s needs are met for long-term safety and success.

The new CASA volunteers are: Merri Eder, Vidya Nair, Jill Swain Amy Williams, Denise Miller, Jennifer Towers, Karen Morphew, Nicole Do and Jarren Rogers.

Nair, Swain, Towers, Morphew, Do and Rogers will work with children in Bartholomew County, Eder with children in Jennings County, Miller with children in Decatur County and Williams with children in all three counties, the news release said.

The new volunteers attended in-depth training on how to be the voice for abused and neglected children, and how to ensure that they find safe, loving and permanent homes, the news release said.
