Bartholomew County seniors are being offered free mulch or compost later this month, but for two days, they can also have it loaded for them.
The large free load can be placed into either a pick-up truck or a trailer at the Columbus/Bartholomew Yard Waste Site, located behind the recycling center at 720 S. Mapleton St.
Weather permitting, this service will be offered on two consecutive Wednesdays, March 20 and March 27, from 8 a.m. until noon, according to the Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District.
This service is intended to assist those 50 years of age or older, SWMD education coordinator Kari Spurgeon said. However, anyone who considers themselves a senior resident can request and receive the service, she said.
