NORTH VERNON — An autopsy completed on 23-year-old Donavon Booker, who died in a shooting in Country Squire Lakes, shows he died of a single gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Jennings County Coroner Gene Rudicel said a full autopsy was done on Booker on Wednesday, and the coroner’s office is awaiting further results, including those from toxicology tests.

Jennings County Sheriff’s deputies said Booker was outside at a home at 3972 Squire Lakes Boulevard with two other individuals when he was shot while standing in the home’s driveway.

Home security cameras filmed the incident which shows Stephon Moore, 30, Louisville exiting from a light-colored, four-door passenger car with three other individuals, according to a probable cause affidavit filed against Moore in Jennings Circuit Court.

The video shows an altercation and a black male with shoulder-length hair described as dreadlocks, later identified as Moore, shooting a pistol at three different male subjects at the Squire Lakes Boulevard address, according to the affidavit.

Moore is charged in Jennings Circuit Court with one count of murder and two additional counts of attempted murder in the shooting incident, court records state.

Moore is being held without bond in Louisville, Kentucky, following his arrest Tuesday by Louisville Metro Police on the murder and attempted murder charges.

In an initial hearing in Louisville, Moore agreed to be extradited back to Jennings County, although Jennings County officials have not yet had that confirmed through the court, said Jenning’s Sheriff Department Chief Deputy David Turner. Jennings County now has a 30-day window to move Moore to the Jennings County Jail, where he will be held without bond pending court hearings in Jennings Circuit Court.

Turner said an investigation continues into the shooting, and detectives are still trying to locate one individual they wish to speak with about the shooting. Additional charges against other individuals are being considered, Turner said.

Two other individuals have been “detained” in Louisville, although their names have not been released as they have not yet been arrested or charged, deputies said.
