Officers arrest local man after foot pursuit

Kolt A. Kreinhagen

A local man wanted on a Bartholomew County warrant was arrested after a foot pursuit with CPD officers.

An officer from CPD’s Intelligence Led Policing Unit observed Kolt A. Kreinhagen, 36, of 2312 Maple St., riding a bicycle near Gladstone Avenue and McKinley Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The officer confirmed a local warrant for Kreinhagen’s arrest and attempted to stop him. Kreinhagen refused to stop and continued riding his bicycle in an effort to avoid arrest, Harris said.

A short time later, Krienhagen began fleeing on foot and he was apprehended after officers utilized a Taser to take him into custody, Harris said.

During the pursuit, Krienhagen damaged a fence in the 200 block of Cleveland Street while trying to avoid being arrested, Harris said.

Kreinhagen was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief and the Bartholomew County warrant. He was being with no bond at the jail, jail officials said.
