Stuff the Bus campaign coming to Columbus Saturday

‘Stuff the Bus’ comes to Columbus Saturday

Walmart and The Salvation Army are collaborating to provide school supplies for local students in need.

Salvation Army officers, staff and local volunteers will be outside the east-side Columbus Walmart, 735 Whitfield Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday collecting new school supplies for Bartholomew County classrooms and students.

Walmart shoppers online and in-store will receive a list of suggested supplies to help fill The Salvation Army’s bus or collection bin during the “Stuff the Bus” campaign event.

All donations made at the Columbus “Stuff the Bus” campaign event will remain in the community and will help The Salvation Army provide back-to-school support to local children in need and supplies to restock classrooms as the school year progresses.

The national campaign can be followed throughout the day on social media using the hashtag #StuffTheBus.
