Columbus marching bands to compete in ISSMA marching band events

The Columbus East and Columbus North high school marching bands will compete in Indiana State School Music Association marching band events this month.

The Columbus East Olympian Spirit marching band will perform among 10 schools participating in the ISSMA scholastic preliminaries open class invitational Oct. 12 at Whiteland Community High School, 300 E. Main St. in Whiteland.

East is slated to perform at 1:23 p.m.

The Sound of North will compete at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 19 during the ISSMA open class regional competition at Center Grove High School, 4800 Stones Crossing Road in Greenwood.

Columbus North is also slated to perform in the Bands of America Grand National Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium on Nov. 14-16.
