Four arrested after warrant served at local home

Four people were arrested on felony drug charges after law enforcement officers served a search warrant at a Columbus home.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday, officers from the CPD Intelligence Led Policing Unit and the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team served a search warrant at 1509 Union St., said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

During a search of the residence, officers located methamphetamine, heroin, several syringes, as well as drug paraphernalia, Harris said.

The persons listed below were placed under arrest on the following preliminary charges and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail:

Bobby J. Roberts, 59, of 525 Parkway, Columbus: Dealing in methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a syringe. He was being held in jail in lieu of $236,000 bond, jail officials said.

Sunshine N. Johnson, 33, of 2225 Elm St., Columbus: Dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of heroin, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia. She was being held in jail in lieu of $413,000 bond, jail officials said.

Erica D. Burton, 35, of 3677 Triangle Court, Columbus: Possession of methamphetamine, possession of a look-a-like substance, visiting a common nuisance. She was being held in jail in lieu of $66,000 bond, jail officials said.

David B. Copass, 56, of 1509 Union St., Columbus: Possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in jail in lieu of $125,000 bond, jail officials said.

Officers from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department and CPD Uniform Division also assisted with this investigation.
