Two arrested after deputy spots stolen vehicle

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested two people after determining the vehicle they were traveling in had been reported stolen in Columbus.

Deputy Frank Munoz saw the vehicle at 3:42 p.m. Monday traveling south on Lindsey Street and West State Road 46, and noticed the vehicle did not have a license plate.

After making contact with the driver identified as Kyra Anderson, 29, of 2820 16th St., and a passenger identified as Ricky D. Stephens, 34, of 1620 Jonesville Road, deputies discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen, deputies said.

Anderson was arrested on a preliminary charge of receiving stolen property and was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bond. Stephens was arrested on preliminary charges of theft and criminal trespass and was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail also in lieu of $7,500 bond.
