Edwards goes viral (in a good way) with ‘Quarantine’ song

Columbus resident Pam Edwards simply struggled to sleep the other night when the muse came to her unexpectedly.

Soon enough, the former Northview Church worship leader penned lighthearted lyrics to a song she titled “Quarantine” — set to the music of the Beatles’ classic hit “Yesterday.” The video clip she posted Monday evening on her Facebook page at Pamela Meadows Edwards has triggered good-natured laughter among friends, and some serious reactions among some wowed by her voice that once was part of an all-female Christian rock band in the 1980s.

The effort was inspired, of course, by the stay-at-home orders from Gov. Eric Holcomb in Indiana to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

The clip garnered enough attention that it was aired Tuesday morning by an Indianapolis television station.

The two-minute performance features Edwards on keyboards in her home with husband Andy in the background adding comic antics.
