Q: Why are you running for Congress?

A: My highest priority will always be the Hoosiers of Indiana’s Sixth District. I will continue to embody our shared values in Congress and fight to get our economy moving again.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish if elected?

A: In these difficult times, Hoosiers deserve a Congressman who will continue to stand with President Trump to support middle-class families, farmers, manufacturers and small businesses.

Q: More than 1,100 Indiana residents have died from COVID-19 and more than 500,000 Indiana residents have filed initial unemployment benefit claims over the past few weeks. As a member of Congress, how would you balance the public health risks that the pandemic poses to Hoosiers with mitigating the economic damage caused by the spread of the coronavirus when proposing and voting on legislation?

A: While health and safety remains my top priority, Hoosiers are ready to come out of isolation and get back to normal life. To avoid an economic catastrophe that can last far longer than the virus, we must take steps to provide regulatory relief, streamline government operations, and protect small businesses to keep communities in Indiana’s 6th District and nationwide prosperous for generations to come.

Q: According to the U.S. Census Bureau, around 8% of Hoosiers in 2018 did not have health insurance. In addition, many Indiana residents who do have insurance struggle to pay medical bills or forgo medical care altogether because they cannot afford it. If elected, what would you do to expand medical coverage and lower costs?

A: Unfortunately, top-down Washington-driven health care policies have left many Hoosiers without access to high quality, affordable health coverage. Telehealth is proving to be an extremely successful approach to bridge the gap of care in rural communities in Indiana and nationwide. We must expand these telehealth services to ensure that all patients have access to high quality, affordable health care.
