Indiana native receives Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree

URBANA, Ill. —

Ellen Jarvis, daughter of Tony and Bonnie Jarvis of Columbus, Ind., graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree on May 16.

Jarvis graduated from Brownstown (Ind.) Central High School in 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2016 from Murray State University in Murray, Ky.

The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 30 veterinary schools in the United States. Its curriculum focuses on integrating the clinical skills and basic sciences relevant to veterinary practice throughout the four-year doctoral degree program.

Now that her graduate studies have concluded, Jarvis will be working as a mixed animal veterinarian at Spring Mill Veterinary Services in Mitchell, Ind.
