Poynter sells Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Hyundai dealership to P-4 Automotive Group

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bob Poynter Family of Dealerships, one of the largest automotive groups in south central Indiana, has sold its Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Hyundai dealership in Columbus.

The dealership has been sold to the P-4 Automotive Group, owned by Leo Portaluppi, who brought back the Chevrolet brand to the city and recently had grand openings for new Ford and Nissan dealerships here.

Portaluppi owns the Chevrolet, Nissan and Ford dealerships here and a Nissan dealership in Lafayette.

The four Portaluppi dealerships currently have a combined 150 employees, and Columbus continues to be home-base for all of them, with centralized business offices locally.

Bob Poynter, Jr. has owned and operated the Columbus dealerships since 2008. He decided to offer the dealerships for sale to focus his time on his other businesses, he said in a statement. He said that he is very grateful for all the relationships he has built in the store and appreciated all who have done business with him over the years.
