INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 1,166 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 710,607 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
To date, 12,840 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 14 from the previous day. Another 408 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
A total of 3,343,166 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,337,834 on Tuesday. A total of 9,516,161 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 7,913 positive tests (up 17) with 155 deaths (no change) as of Wednesday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 4,941 positive cases (up two) with 72 deaths (up two).
- Jennings County: 2,254 positive cases (up three) with 48 deaths (up one).
- Decatur County: 2,795 positive cases (up four) with 92 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 4,813 positive cases (up 13) with 95 deaths (no change).
- Johnson County: 17,571 positive cases (up 14) with 374 deaths (no change).
- Brown County: 1,007 positive cases (no change) with 40 deaths (no change).

As of today, a total of 3,834,629 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,212,174 first doses and 1,622,455 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
