General Motors and Chevrolet of Columbus partner with nonprofits

Staff Reports

Chevrolet of Columbus recently reaffirmed their commitment to serve more children, help families in the local community facing economic distress, and foster relationships that help create healthier communities when GM provided impact grants to two local charities: The Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center (LCNFC) and the Foundation for Youth (FFY).

Through the impact grant program, General Motors has matched donations from Chevrolet of Columbus to both of these organizations, investing in programs that directly affect the community.

“The support of GM, and Chevy of Columbus have made a real difference for many of our families,” Chuck Kime, executive director of FFY, said. “Parents want to know their kids are safe in enriching environments that encourage them to learn. These grant dollars have helped make that true for many.”

Leo Portaluppi, president of Chevrolet of Columbus, said, “Its very important to us to give back to the community. The store is named ‘Chevrolet of Columbus’ so we never lose sight of the community that has supported us — the community that we are a part of. So giving back to these programs that are designed to directly impact the health and well being of the community in these times makes more sense than ever.”
