North moves to final

BLOOMINGTON — Fifth-ranked Columbus North advanced to the Bloomington South Regional final with a 4-1 win Tuesday against Bloomington North.

Ashlie Wilson beat Alex Shirley 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Kathryn Wilson blanked Brooke Bailey 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles for the Bull Dogs (18-2). Jaline Tay and Tiffany Fu topped Ellie Bruce and Kiera Murphy 7-6 (5), 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Leah George and Sydney Cooper downed Siggy Force and Rena Cohan 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Columbus North’s Siri Poludasu fell to Lucy Smith 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6) at No. 3 singles.

The Bull Dogs will play Seymour for the regional championship at 5:30 p.m. today.

Jets no-hit Twisters

RISING SUN — Paige McDaniel threw a five-inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts, and Hauser advanced to the Rising Sun Sectional final with a 15-0, five-inning rout of Oldenburg Academy.

McDaniel also went 3 for 3 with a triple and a home run and two RBIs at the plate. The Jets (23-4) scored six times in each of the first two innings to put it away early.

Morgan Bottoms had a double and three RBIs for Hauser. Kyra Meister had three RBIs, and Hannah Johnson added two RBIs.

Hauser moves on to play Jac-Cen-Del in Thursday’s 6 p.m. final.

Cougars fall to Eagles

RISING SUN — Jac-Cen-Del scored six times in the first inning and went on to hand South Decatur a 15-0, five-inning loss in the semifinals of the Rising Sun Sectional.

Erynn Dyer had the lone hit for the Cougars (4-15).

BOYS GOLF

Warriors outscore Eagles

FRANKLIN — Brown County fell to Whiteland 189-221.

Cooper VanNess led the Eagles with a 46. Clay Austin added a 50, Jordan Burnett shot 60 and Bradley Arndt had a 65.

Twisters top Lancers

BATESVILLE — Max Blandford won co-medalist honors with a 40, but Edinburgh fell to Oldenburg Academy 184-205.

Trevor Moon added a 48 for the Lancers. Mason Calhoun had a 53, and Devyn Milburn and Keegan Smith each shot 64.

Trinity takes second

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran finished second in a tri match at Shadowood. Greenwood Christian Academy won with a 162 to 192 for Trinity, and Medora did not have enough to score as a team.

Jacob Sabotin led Trinity with a 39. Kade Hill added a 48, Preston Kovener shot 51 and Caleb Williams had a 56.
