Winter storm arriving late Tuesday

A winter storm is expected to arrive in the Bartholomew County area late today into Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for areas north of Bartholomew County. No watches or warnings are issues for Bartholomew County at this time, according to Bartholomew County Emergency Management.

Bartholomew County is expected to get 2 to 5 inches of snow, although areas surrounding the county could get 6 to 7 inches of snow. Areas south of Bartholomew County are looking at 1 to 4 inches of snow. Any shifts in the storm’s path could result in different amounts, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service is predicting Bartholomew County has about a 13% probability of receiving 6 or more inches of snow in this storm.

The storm is expected to arrive around midnight Tuesday and end mid-to late afternoon on Wednesday. Temperatures will not be subzero as was experienced in the last storm, according to emergency management.
