Lawrence Claude 'Larry' Schryer, 61, of Austin, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1951 in Seymour, he was the son of the late Calvin Scheyer and LaDonna (Cochran) Schryer.
He was married to Ruth (Combs) Schryer, who survives.
He was an employee of Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. He was a member of the Crossroads Community Church in Elizabethtown. Mr. Schryer was a Elder at the Crossroads Community Church, Sunday school teacher, Councilor, and Missionary. Also, he was a member of the NRA and F.O.P. # 156 Scottsburg. He was also a Minister.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Clay, of Austin, Jeff Clay of Austin, Jimmy Clay of Dallas, Ga., and Brett Schryer, of Seymour; brothers, Brian (Carrie) Schryer, of Seymour, Tom (Teresa) Schryer, of Seymour, Jack (Wendy) Schryer, of Freetown, Tony Schryer, of Hanover, and Richard (Chris) Schryer, of Seymour; sisters, Sheryl (Steven) Vance, of North Vernon, and Alecia (Michael) Franklin, of Columbus; and his step-father, David Kinsel, of Columbus. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; a son, Eric Schryer; and his step-mother, Alice Deitz Schryer.
The Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, with Pastor Tracy McIntyre officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at Buchanan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the New Providence Cemetery in Austin.
