Colleen Cherry, 51, of Greensburg, passed away on March 4, 2014. She was born on December 29, 1962, in Anaheim, California, the daughter of Hugh and Rosanne Miller. On October 29, 1992, she married David Lee Cherry.
Colleen was a 1981 graduate of South Decatur High School and was a quality control specialist for Nipro (formerly Wheaton) of Westport for over 20 years. Colleen loved her family, shopping, and traveling. She was a silent helper, supporting many different causes by volunteering and donating.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus.
Survivors include her husband, David Cherry; her parents, Hugh and Rosanne Miller; children, Jenny (Ryan) Burkhart, Michael Colson, Jessica Cherry, Jennifer Colson, and Stephanie Cherry; grandchildren, Jada, Layne, and Ashton Lee, Nolan and Maggie Burkhart, Mariah Cherry, and RoseLyn Volk; a sister, Kathy (Greg) Pataky; her father-in-law, William Cherry; and brothers-in-law, Tom Cherry and Richard (Donna) Cherry.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Luella Cherry.
A Rosary Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, with a visitation for family and friends following until 6:00 p.m. at Gilliland Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, Indiana. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Columbus, Indiana, with calling from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass. Father Doug Marcotte will be officiating.
A luncheon will follow the Mass at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the future creation of Colleen's Closet, a local non-profit organization to help cancer patients with everyday needs.
