James "J.O." Johnson, 74, of Edinburgh, died at 10:46 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Mr. Johnson was former owner of Lancer Express Trucking Co. and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and NASCAR.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Whosoever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Dr., Edinburgh, with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
Born in Johnson County Feb. 19, 1940, Mr. Johnson was the son of Clyde P. Johnson and Alberta Cochran Johnson. He married Alice Kautiainen Jan. 19, 1959.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James (Lisa) Johnson of Columbus; daughters, Dara Simpson, Allison (Cary) Detling and Kelly Hagan, all of Edinburgh; sisters, Miriam A. (Curtis) Rooks and Angel J. (Billy) Wiser, both of Edinburgh; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia L. "Pat" Smith.
