Jerry A. Glendenning, 80, of Columbus, died at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Glendenning was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching birds outside her window, cooking, camping, boating and traveling.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Chris Lantz officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Etna Cemetery in Mount Etna, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Mrs. Glendenning was born in Huntington County, March 21, 1934, the daughter of James K. and Meriam G. Kocher Thorne. She married Don Glendenning on February 1, 1953.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Thea Linneweber and Barb Glendenning, both of Columbus; grandsons, Ryan (Lyndsey) Linneweber of Columbus and Greg (Jessica) Linneweber of Noblesville; and great-grandchildren, Kai and Cooper Linneweber and Shepard Linneweber.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Thorne; and a sister, Carolyn Laymon.
