Nancy Ellen Mars, 76, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014, at Jennings Healthcare in North Vernon, Indiana.
Born March 10, 1938, in Vallonia, Indiana, she was the daughter of Sylvan and Ada Pearl Herndon Eble.
Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Cortland High School in Cortland, Indiana. She worked as a Foster Grandparent for the Early Learning Center in North Vernon, in the accounting department for Reliance Electric in Columbus for 15 years, and also at the Indiana Telephone Company. She was a member of the Butlerville Mennonite Church in Butlerville, Indiana. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, and bluegrass music.
Survivors include two daughters, Lee Ann (Brian) Terrell of Fort Myers, FL, and Lisa (William) Higgs of North Vernon; three sisters, Judy Kiel (Dan) McKain of Freetown, IN, Mona (Kenneth) Plumer and Pat Burns, both of Seymour, IN; and four grandchildren, Alex and Adam Terrell of Fort Myers, FL, and Kolton and Kylan Higgs, both of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Eble.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Butlerville Mennonite Church and the Alzheimer’s Association.
