Michael Van Fossen, 74, passed away at 3:23 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Michael was born April 27, 1939 in Seymour, the son of Mary Rose (Sciarra) Lucas.
Mike was a 1957 graduate of Seymour High School and attended Chicago School of Art and Design. He served in the Indiana National Guard, stationed at Camp Grayling, Michigan.
He worked as a draftsman for Cummins Engine Company, was the Office Manager at Preston Chemical and retired from Columbus City Utilities after 25 years and worked part-time as a bartender for Columbus Elks Club for 20 years.
Mike is survived by his partner of 47 years, Michael Ross of Columbus, and many friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Rose Lucas; stepfather, Bob Lucas; and a brother, Cyril Van Fossen all of Seymour.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation will occur. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted with the care of the arrangements.
