Dawn M. Shepherd, 49, of West Northgate Drive, died at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Dawn earned associate degrees in accounting and later in interior design from Ivy Tech. She was an interior designer for Brands Inc.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbus, Hartsville Chapter No. 550 Order of the Eastern Star, and Phi Theta Kappa academic fraternity.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dr. Daniel Cash officiating. Family and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Born in Columbus September 26, 1964, Dawn was the daughter of Kenneth E. and Janet M. Wolbers Hart. She married Steven W. Shepherd June 18, 1983.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Steven; her sons, Steven Ryan Shepherd of Indianapolis and Matthew K. Shepherd of Columbus; her mother, Janet Hart of Taylorsville; her father-in-law, David F. Shepherd of Columbus; her mother-in-law, LaRetta Hoard, and her husband, Dennis, of Columbus; her sisters, Brenda (Cliff) Frady of Hope, Debbi (Bill) Fleming of Columbus, and Becky (Joe) Scgalski of Columbus; her brother, Scott (Andrea) Hart of Santa Clarita, CA; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Michael and Laura Shepherd of Columbus, Teresa and Randy Reeves of Columbus, and Nicole and Trevor Wylie of Twenty-nine Palms, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father and a brother-in-law, David F. Shepherd Jr.
