William D. Hardin, 89, of County Road 750W, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the home of his daughter.
Mr. Hardin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and a tree farmer, attended Ogilville Christian Church, Ogilville United Methodist Church, and New Life Community Church in Nashville, and was a member of the Soil Conservation Club.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ogilville United Methodist Church with Robert Hurt and Martin E. Wright officiating. Family and friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Ogilville. Full military rites will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Columbus February 13, 1925, Mr. Hardin was the son of Frank and Blanche Rich Hardin. He married Mary Louise Pruitt June 17, 1949. She preceded him in death September 20, 2002.
Survivors include daughters, Judy (Preston) Crabtree of Columbus and Karen Hardin of Columbus; sisters, Janice (Leon) Sullivan of Columbus and Ruth Ann (Will) Hollin of Columbus; grandchildren, Angela (Tanney) Brock, Amy Guffey, Christopher Jackson, Jay Williams, and Wendy Stover; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Thixton, Andy (Keisha) Mings, Korbin Guffey, Cameron Stover, and Boone Williams; and great-great-grandchildren, Shaylah and Michael Thixton and Delainey Mings.
Mr. Hardin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Cheryl Pedigo; and brothers, Donald and Ronald Hardin.
