Rose A. Hawkins, 81, of Crescent Way, died at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg.
Born August 27, 1932, in Ashland, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of George and Madeline Lovell Schilling. She married William G. "Bill" Hawkins August 28, 1954.
Rose was a longtime member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She enjoyed cake decorating and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Marty Peter officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time July 23. Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include sons, Mike Hawkins of Yorktown, Indiana, and Bill (Therese) Hawkins of Columbus; a daughter, Sharon (John) Dunfee of Columbus; a brother, Carl Schilling of Philadelphia; sisters, Sister Agnes Schilling of Philadelphia and Marie (Tom) Kellagher of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband; daughters, Ellen DeGruise and Ann T. Hawkins; and brothers, George Schilling and Father Frances Schilling.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
