M. Gene Clingerman, 84, of Columbus, passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Brown County Health and Living Community.
Gene was born in Clay City, August 29, 1929 to the late William R. and Ethyl Wilkes Clingerman. He married Patricia J. Voke on June 15, 1951 in Terre Haute.
Gene retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1983. He enjoyed golfing and playing table tennis. Gene loved spending time with his family and friends.
Family and friends may call from 11a.m. until noon Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Gene is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Clingerman; children; Ann M. (Glenn) Kalisiak of Medinah, Illinois, Alan S. Clingerman of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, and Janet S. Schonfeld of Bloomington; and a grandson, Seth B. Schonfeld of Bloomington.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; brother W. Ray Clingerman; and sister, Dorothy Alice Harkin.
