Prentice Henderson Sr., 68, of 16th Street, died at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Henderson retired from Arvin Industries after 20 years of service. He was formerly employed with Cummins Engine Company and McCullouch Company in California and was a member of Calvary Community Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Bishop Charles A. Sims officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to time of service Friday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Rising Sun, January 23, 1946, Mr. Henderson was the son of Noble and Flossie Johnson Henderson. He married Darlene C. Ruffin May 24, 1968.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Stephanie (Brian) Nix of Columbus and Prentice (Sarah) Henderson Jr. of Columbus; brothers and sisters, Betty Jean Smith of Kentucky, Phillip Henderson of Shelbyville, Mary Johnson of Kentucky, Norris Henderson, Dorothy Ann (Mitchell) Gore of Virginia, Frankie (Judy) Henderson of Columbus, Peggy (Phillip) Campbell of Indianapolis, Larry Henderson of Florida, Sheila Henderson of Virginia, and Darlene Henderson of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Echols.
