Frances Louise Ford Rutan, 91, of Fairfield, Illinois, formerly of Columbus, died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at her home.
Frances was born June 24, 1923, in Shelbyville, Indiana, the daughter of Lee and Edna Cauzzort Fetter. She first married Howard Ford, who preceded her in death. Her second husband, Don Rutan, also preceded her in death.
Frances was a nurse's aide at Columbus Regional Hospital from 1951 to 1973. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Tyler Tolbert officiating. Calling will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Judy) Ford of Nashville, Indiana; daughters, Sally (Randy) Fry of Dallas, Texas, and Pat Frankland and Beverly (John) Rister, all of Fairfield, Illinois; a brother, Paul E. (Valaria) Fetter of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and one sister.
