Injury rash to thinning cornerback corps forces Indianapolis to make roster changes


INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts made a change at cornerback Tuesday by signing and waiving .

Thomas was Dallas' fifth-round pick in 2011, spent three seasons in Carolina and played with Seattle, the New York Jets and Detroit in 2014. He was most recently with Minnesota.

Thomas replaces Patterson, who was promoted from the practice squad last week and pressed into service Monday night after was diagnosed with a concussion.

Starting cornerback (neck) and nickel cornerback (hip) both sat out Monday's game against the Jets.

The Colts also added tight end to the practice squad, released cornerback from the practice squad and reached an injury settlement with running back .
