Cory Schneider makes 21 stops as New Jersey Devils blank Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0


NEWARK, New Jersey — made 21 stops for his first shutout of the season and Mike Cammalleri had a goal and two assists, leading the New Jersey Devils to a dominating 4-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night.

Schneider was only tested only a handful of times in his 17th career shutout. He had a nice save with his blocking pad on Penguins center , who has only two goals in 17 games.

Soon after, the Devils broke in 4-on-2 and defenseman Schlemko knocked in a rebound. Penguins defenseman tried desperately to get the puck out of the crease and knocked the goal off its mooring, but it was Schlemko's second goal of the season.

New Jersey thought it had another goal late when slid the puck under Zatkoff late in the second, but apparently the whistle had blown and the net was knocked off the mooring. The review took almost five minutes before the goal was officially waved off with 1:42 left.

But Farnham scored at 2:09 of the third, and Stempniak, one of the team's best acquisitions in the offseason, capped the scoring with his fourth goal at 14:54.
