Deportivo stays winless in 6 games after 0-0 draw with Espanyol in Spanish league

Deportivo La Coruna's winless run reached six games after drawing 0-0 at home with Espanyol in the Spanish league on Sunday.

Espanyol midfielder Javi Lopez had the best chance of an otherwise drab match when he struck Lucas Vazquez's corner kick off the crossbar with seven minutes to play.

Deportivo remained one point above the relegation zone, while Espanyol stayed in the middle of the table.

Later, Barcelona hosts Real Madrid aiming to protect its one-point advantage over its fierce rival at the top of the Spanish league standings.

Sevilla also visits Villarreal, while Real Sociedad hosts Cordoba.
