City man arrested after domestic disturbance

A Columbus man is behind bars after he was arrested on multiple charges following police response to a domestic disturbance.

Anthony Michael Allseitz, 29, 4973 Vance St., is in Bartholomew County Jail on a $30,000 bond, charged with:

  • Domestic battery in the presence of a minor
  • Strangulation
  • Battery resulting in moderate injury
  • Criminal confinement

About 6:49 p.m. Monday, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Leah Burton and Deputy Nate Nichols were dispatched to the 4000 block of Vance Street in reference to a disturbance.

Nichols made contact with a man who advised him that his niece had called him due to a domestic disturbance involving her mother and her stepfather, the sheriff’s department said.

As the alleged female victim tried to leave the home, Allseitz restrained her, took her car keys and would not let her leave the residence, the sheriff’s department said.

Capt. Dave Steinkoenig, Lt. Brandon Slate and Deputy Terry Holderness assisted.
