1) I’ve attended two local Open Mic Nights in the past couple of years, and here’s a main point I would amplify: The level of talent surprised me both times. It included people who have occasionally performed as professionals to those who had to be coaxed to the stage. And I thoroughly enjoyed the mix. 2) Comic Dan Chopin’s musical and standup online clips are clever enough to get my attention. You may have heard him on “The Bob and Tom Show.” He’ll close out the current season of YES Comedy Showcase at 8 p.m. Saturday at YES Cinema, Fourth and Jackson streets in Columbus.
