1) To understand just how top-notch the Cincinnati Boychoir is, know that six of its recent alumni now perform with the world-famous Vienna Boys Choir. The ensemble will perform a free show — for donations — during the Music at Asbury series at 7:30 p.m. May 16 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1751 27th St. in Columbus. The group will perform a broad and varied repertoire, including an arrangement from Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir Artistic Director Ruth Dwyer.
2) As far as I’m concerned, you can never get too much of Latin tunes, which can move you and groove you on your worst days. So mark your calendar for “A Fiesta of Latin Music” dance from 7 to 10 p.m. May 16 at The Commons, 300 Washington St. in Columbus. Dance Indiana and Cummins GOAL will usher in every possible style that could help rhythm to crawl up your leg, from salsa to rumba. Tickets, priced at $20, will be available at the door.
