1) A few years ago, I signed up for Amazon Prime, only to ditch it after I couldn’t justify the $100 membership fee. Perhaps I was a little hasty in that decision, as I miss Amazon Prime. I’m hoping “Mr. Noobie” can, in his Amazon Prime speech, elucidate the many benefits and/or disadvantages of Amazon Prime and perhaps talk me back into the service. Mr. Noobie, aka Patrick Welch, speaks at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. Information: 812-379-1266.
2) When it was unbearably cold this winter, I embarked upon what was, for me, a new crafting experience: I started making dolls. I knit three dolls and styled them in the shape of rock stars I enjoy. Now that it’s warmer out, the inspiration has not disappeared. I hope to learn more about dolls and toys during the 32nd Annual Doll and Bear Show and Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds Community Building. In addition to vendors and door prizes, this free show features antique, modern, collectible and original dolls. Information: 812-376-9124.
