McDowell Education Center offers free English Language Learner and High School Equivalency (formerly GED) classes.
Prospective students must attend an orientation at McDowell, 2700 McKinley Ave., and can register by calling 812-376-4451 or by visiting mcdowelledu.org.
For the English classes:
- Day orientation schedules are 1 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 19, Sept. 2, Sept. 30 and Nov. 4.
- Evening orientations are 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 20, Sept. 3, Oct. 1 and Nov. 5.
Seating for each session is limited to 15 people.
For the adult education classes:
- Day orientation schedules are 1 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26 and Sept. 9.
- Evening orientations are Aug. 27 and Sept. 10.
Seating is limited.
