East student organizing benefit golf outing

A Columbus East student is organizing a golf tournament to benefit the Bartholomew County Humane Society on Oct. 3.

Magan Hashimoto is seeking area businesses and organizations willing to sponsor various aspects of the tournament, such as sponsoring a shelter animal or being an event, hole or T-shirt sponsor.

The event will be at the Clifty Creek Golf Course. The first nine holes will be played with a cart, and then there will be a break and a second nine holes will be played.

Cost will be $50 per player, with a $40 student rate. There will be prizes for the longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one.
