Police arrested a Columbus woman after receiving a call that someone had struck a house under construction with a vehicle early Tuesday morning.
Brooke N. Waltz, 20, 4271 Wellington Court, was arrested on preliminary charges of leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage, said Sgt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police spokesman.
When Columbus police officers arrived at the house in the 4400 block of Westminster Place, they found a fluid trail that led to a vehicle that was believed to have been involved in the incident, a 2007 Honda passenger car, Harris said.
Officers spoke to Waltz, who told them she was driving too fast when she hit the house earlier in the morning.
Waltz was given a portable breath test and tested at .17 blood-alcohol content, more than double the legal limit, Harris said.
Waltz is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond, jail officials said.
