Rachel Victoria Smith, 31, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, formerly of Columbus, died Friday, September 18, 2015, at her home.
Rachel was born October 26, 1983, in Columbus. She was a 2002 graduate of Columbus East High School and a graduate of DePauw University. She was employed at ORBIS Corporation and was active in the C.A.T. program (Community Action Team) with her work.
Rachel and her dog, Simba, were a certified therapy team, going to visit at nursing homes. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Louisville, Kentucky, and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th Street, with Pastor Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, Steve Wayne (Pam) Smith and Kimberly (Bob) Bennett, both of Columbus; brothers, Noah Smith of Columbus, Nicolas Smith of Tacoma, Washington, Nathan Bennett of Dallas, Texas, and Nicholas Bennett of Columbus; and her grandfather, Don Law of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carol Joan Law, Estil Smith, Mildred Smith, and Richard Smith.
