More than 120 quilters from around the state attended the Indiana State Quilt Guild’s state convention at the Holiday Inn ballroom where they put row after row of sewing machines to use sewing Quilts of Valor, a national project that created more than 3,000 quilts for wounded soldiers the year before.

More than 100 boys representing 26 Cub Scout packs raced cars they made for the annual Pinewood Derby at The Commons.

An improperly functioning natural gas starter and oil feeder line resulted in two explosions and a minor fire in the basement at Donner Center.
