You can allow the winds of March to blow in a fresh, comforting breeze of relief to those needing a helping hand in Bartholomew County. In fact, you can be that source of relief when you give of your time and talent. Here are a few ideas and bits of inspiration, and others appear on Page (fill in blank)

1 HOUR

Just friends is just fine: Just Friends Adult Day Service seeks volunteers as either senior companions (assisting with activities, conversation and games) or walking coaches (walking with participants inside Columbus’ Mill Race Center). 2 HOURS

Be nifty and assist the thrifty: Sans Souci (French meaning “without worry”) needs helpers to hang clothing, sort donations and stock shelving at its thrift store in the United Way of Bartholomew County parking lot, 1526 13th St. in Columbus. Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Information: Logan Richard at 812-372-3419 or [email protected].

3 HOURS OR MORE

Extending compassion while celebrating life: Our Hospice of South Central Indiana seeks caring volunteers to provide companionship to patients and families living with an advanced illness. Other volunteer options include helping with clerical tasks or at fundraising events. Must participate in orientation, training and ongoing education.
